এমন অনেক মানুষ আছে যাদের অঢেল ধন-সম্পত্তি, গাড়ি, বাড়ি থাকা সত্ত্বেও মানুষ তাদের সম্মান করেন না, ভালোবাসেন না বরং ঘৃণা করেন শুধুমাত্র তারা চরিত্রহীন বলে। আবার এমনও অনেক মানুষ রয়েছে যারা অঢেল ধন-সম্পত্তি’র মালিক নন কিন্তু সবাই তাদের সম্মান করেন, শ্রদ্ধা করেন, ভালোবাসেন, বিশ্বাস করেন শুধুমাত্র তারা চরিত্রবান বলে। একজন চরিত্রবান মানুষ বিশেষ কিছু গুণাবলী’র অধীকারী হয়। তিনি হন সৎ, বিনয়ী, পরোপকারী, নম্র, ভদ্র, উদার, ন্যায়পরায়ণ, নির্লোভ, রুচিশীল ইত্যাদি। একজন সৎ, চরিত্রবান ব্যাক্তি হন অসীম সম্মান ও শ্রদ্ধার পাত্র।
